Starting with a new childcare provider often brings plenty of questions. What time does breakfast club start? How much are after school clubs? Can you use Tax-Free Childcare to pay? We have put together this guide to help you understand how our before and after school childcare works, so you know exactly what to expect.
At RB Active Care, we have provided Ofsted registered childcare for families across the Black Country since 2017. All of our wraparound childcare takes place within your child’s school, every day of term.
We offer care at both ends of the school day, with healthy food and active play included in every session.
Our doors open at 7:30am, and breakfast club runs until 8:45am. Breakfast club prices are £6 per session, which includes a nutritious breakfast such as toast, cereal and fresh fruit, with milk, water or squash. Our team then walks your child to their classroom, ready for the school day.
We pick your child up at the end of the school day and offer two options:
Every after school club includes a healthy snack, such as beans on toast, sandwiches, wraps or fresh fruit and vegetables. Start and finish times vary slightly between schools, so please check your venue’s details in our Parent Guide.
We provide before and after school childcare at primary schools across the Black Country, so your child can stay in a setting they already know. Each venue has its own session times, drop-off and collection points, and Ofsted number, so please only book sessions for the school your child attends.
Our current school venues are:
You can view all of our venues on our School Venues page.
Children choose their own activities, including arts and crafts, sports, board games, outdoor play and reading. There is also time for homework, and we promote literacy and numeracy in an active, fun environment.
All bookings are made online through our booking system. Please only book sessions for the school your child attends. Depending on your setting, there are two ways to book.
A contract is ideal if you need the same days or sessions every week, as it secures your child’s place. Invoices are sent around the 16th of each month and are charged in advance of your childcare. Contract sessions cannot be changed as a one-off, but you can book extra sessions when you need them.
If you book five full after school clubs in the same week, you will also receive a 10% discount.
Ad hoc childcare suits parents who work shifts or irregular hours. You can book as and when you need care, subject to availability, on the same day or up to a half term in advance. Ad hoc sessions are paid for at the time of booking, and many parents combine them with a contract for any extra days they need.
We know childcare is expensive, so we offer several ways to pay:
You can use Tax-Free Childcare for after school club and breakfast club sessions. To add us as a provider, you may need the Ofsted URN number for your child’s venue. You will find this on our Childcare Voucher Codes page, along with our account numbers for each voucher company. If your voucher company is not listed, just get in touch and we will be happy to register with them.
Please send our invoices to your voucher or Tax-Free Childcare provider as soon as they arrive. If payment has not reached us before the 1st of the month, a 15% late payment charge is added.
A few simple routines help us keep every child safe and settled.
Every child is signed in and out of our care. If someone else is collecting your child, please let us know in advance and make sure they know your collection password. Anyone signing children in or out will also need to show photo ID.
If you are running late, call your Setting Coordinator or our office on 0121 695 1394. A late collection charge may apply, and full details are in our terms and conditions. If your child attends a sports club after school, we will collect them when it finishes and bring them to Active Care. Payment is still needed to secure their place.
All our team members are qualified, DBS checked and trained in paediatric first aid and child protection. Our experienced playworkers undergo regular quality assurance checks, and every site Coordinator is trained as a Designated Safeguarding Lead. All our venues are nut allergy aware, too.
Alongside our term time childcare, we offer Ofsted registered holiday camps through RB Sports Activities for children aged 4-12. Please note that 4-year-olds can attend half days only. As our holiday camps are Ofsted registered, you can use childcare vouchers to pay.
Our before and after school childcare gives your child an active, healthy start and end to their school day, while giving you peace of mind. Download our Parent Guide for your venue’s session times and drop-off details, contact us, or book your place online today.
